How Mazda is Adapting to New Tariffs: Updates for Schomp Mazda Customers
Following our previous blog about the implementation of new tariffs on imported vehicles, we wanted to provide Schomp Mazda customers with specific information about how these changes affect Mazda models and what you can expect when shopping with us.
Understanding Mazda’s U.S. Manufacturing Position
Mazda has a unique position in the current tariff landscape. Currently, only two Mazda models are built in the United States:
- CX-50
- CX-50 Hybrid
These American-built models won’t be directly affected by the 25% tariff on imported vehicles that took effect on April 3rd.
The rest of Mazda’s lineup is imported from either Mexico or Japan:
- CX-30 and some Mazda3 models are imported from Mexico
- CX-5, CX-70, CX-90, some Mazda3 models, and the iconic MX-5 Miata are imported from Japan
What Mazda Customers Can Expect
While Mazda has not yet announced specific pricing adjustments or incentive programs in response to the tariffs (as of our latest information), the company is known for its commitment to delivering value and maintaining competitive pricing even during challenging market conditions.
What This Means for You at Schomp Mazda
If you’re considering a new Mazda in or around Denver Colorado or Aurora Colorado, there are a few key points to keep in mind:
- Our current inventory of vehicles that arrived before April 3rd will not be subject to the tariff increases, regardless of their country of origin.
- The U.S.-built CX-50 and CX-50 Hybrid models provide options that won’t be directly impacted by the import tariffs going forward.
- For models imported from Mexico or Japan, we’re working closely with Mazda to understand potential pricing impacts and will continue to provide updates as we receive them.
At Schomp Mazda, we believe transparency is essential during these changing times. Our team is committed to helping you find the best value in your next Mazda purchase. We’ll provide clear information about any pricing adjustments and work with you to explore all available options within your budget.
We encourage you to visit our showroom soon to explore our current inventory, particularly if you’re interested in imported models that might see pricing adjustments in the coming weeks. Our sales team is ready to answer your questions and help you navigate these changes with confidence.
