How the Mazda CX-30 Cracked Consumer Reports’ “Best Cars” List
More than 250 models to choose from, and only 10 make Consumer Reports’ list of “2021 Best Cars of the Year.” The Mazda CX-30 is among them – 2021’s best Subcompact SUV, according to the respected nonprofit consumer testing service.
What earns a vehicle a spot on this list? According to Consumer Reports, it’s “…outstanding performance in more than 50 tests at CR’s Auto Test Center, as well as having solid marks for reliability and owner satisfaction in our member surveys.” Add to those qualities, high scores in safety tests, passing grades in government and insurance-industry crash tests. These tests are extensive and rigorous.
The 2021 Mazda CX-30 earned testers’ praise for how it drives and accelerates, its safety equipment and “much-better-than-average predicted reliability.” Here are some of the high points:
- A “more spirited driving feel than its main rivals,” including “responsive handling and a firm ride.”
- Even with the base 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, “it out-accelerates most competitors.” The new turbo engine “adds even more oomph.”
- The Mazda CX-30’s six-speed conventional automatic transmission that “delivers the satisfaction of traditional shifts.”
While Consumer Reports focuses its attention more on how the Mazda CX-30 performs and keeps its passengers safe, other reviewers have praised it for its design and build quality. Edmunds.com’s reviewer praised the CX-30, saying that it “satisfies all of the usual requirements of comfort, safety and technology, and it pulls ahead with its sharp style, interior refinement and spunky performance.”
The 2021 Mazda CX-30 proves the old saying, “Good things come in small packages,” is true. We at Schomp Mazda are believers. Schedule a test drive and you’ll become a believer too.
